RUNNING COACHING

Running Coaching £45 At Three Hills Track Or £35 In Public

Have you always wanted to run but get only a few minutes into a run and feel “I am just not built for this”? I Mark am the qualified running coach of the company but originally I started out thinking and feeling the above about running. Sometimes for people it is just as easy as putting on some running shoes and just heading out and that’s it! However, it is not that easy for many of us. First and foremost, most people totally exceed their ideal training heart rate when they “just give it a go” and decide that running is not for them without realising that they are really over cooking the intensity.

The fact is that pacing is everything and the use of a heart rate monitor is key! People also often think that walking is cheating when they are starting out running. That simply is not true! Not only is it not cheating but it is very much an approved coaching method for beginners to build themselves up to run and walk in sessions. The real key early on is to try to hold a steady heart rate by utilising the walk and run method and to then progress into holding that heart rate for longer and longer.

Generally it is always good to set a target when starting out running. Most beginners will choose a “couch to 5k” programme and do the local Parkrun on a target date (see website if you do not know what it is) www.parkrun.org.uk. However some people go all out and enter a Marathon as complete beginners. Whatever you choose as a target I have the experience in writing a tailor made training programme for that particular event and most importantly for your particular unique traits as a person.

Running based coaching can be offered at both the track or in a public place like the Leas or the seafront. Due to the track costing about £10 for us both to get in a session in public will be £10 cheaper. In my experience the Leas and the seafront are every bit as good for any type of session. When you book, you can just simply select whether you want to do the session in public or at the track.
